A complete reconfiguration of this family home in Long Eaton to create a sociable open plan family living space with improved connections to the garden.
After the birth of their second child, this family wanted to extend their property to provide much needed extra living and storage space to meet the demands of their growing family.
After carefully listening to our clients brief, we presented an option that closely matched their original idea followed by a ‘wildcard’ option to completely flip their house from back to front to more closely attain their overall goals. Subsequently they scratched their heads and said ‘we’ve got a bit more work to plan in now, but we absolutely love it – let's do it’! In repositioning the kitchen into a larger and fully open plan living space, the property now works much better for the family who are able to enjoy preparing dinner whilst watching the kids play outside, and make use of a separate grown up front room to themselves once the kids have gone to bed!
By re-modelling the ground floor of this property we have been able to not just simply provide an extended space, but completely transform the way the family live and interact together within it, which unequivocally enhances their family life. A great design should work hard to make your life easier and more enjoyable and we totally nailed it with this one !
